Yin Masterclass Workshop with Dhugal Meachem

Workshops are a really important part of our program at Yoga on the Edge. It’s an opportunity to really dive deep and immerse yourself into an aspect of your yoga practice. We offer a wide range of specialised workshops from our experienced team of teachers. But we are also proud to host some of the most well-known names from around the yoga world.

Next in our impressive line up is Dhugal Meachem.

On September 10th, Dhugal will be arriving at Yoga on the Edge to lead you on a Yin workshop like no other…

Yin yoga

Never tried Yin yoga?

It is a mostly floor-based practice that focuses on long, loooooong holds, and passive movement. Its magic can be found through the ancient theory of meridian lines and a slow, melting away of tension and stress through passive movement.

It’s suitable for all levels and is great for soothing troubled minds, increasing mobility and finding space in body and mind.

Your unique anatomy

Have you ever tried to achieve a pose for years and never managed it? Well it could be to do with your anatomy. And it’s not a bad thing… Dhugal’s teachings show that yoga asana (postures) should not only be accepting of differences between our bodies, it should also celebrate it. This workshop focuses on our differences and how we adapt the poses to suit our body in order to progress through our practice. It takes us away from the popular thought that the ‘big’ poses are advanced yoga, and into the immersion of yoga your way. It is ideal for both students and teachers.

It’s a celebration. A celebration of your own unique anatomy.

we dive into what makes yin a different form of yoga and why you should practice, how you should practice and what you need to know to practice or teach it well.”

WARNING: This workshop may change the way you practice yoga

This workshop will take you on a journey deep into your own practice and question the very ‘why’ of what you practice and/or teach. It asks you to consider questions that will add clarity and confidence to your practice or teaching.

This may result in you becoming even more comfortable in being ‘you’. Dhugal will be sharing the fundamentals of practice – working steadily through the building blocks of form and function.

These principles can be applied across all your practices, whether you are a Hatha fan or Vinyasa-lover. It’s immersive, it’s empowering, and it asks you to answer some questions within yourself.

Yoga is about practising with passion so that you can see what you’re capable of. And letting go of much of what we hold on to. He shares these ideas with every student who attends his trainings. And once you’ve found it within yourself, share it, SHINE IT. The world needs some shiny.
