Yogathon 2026 - Celebrating 11 Years of Movement, Community & Giving Back

banners

Our 10th Annual Yogathon last year was an incredible day of connection, compassion and collective strength. The event brought together yogis of all ages and abilities for 12 hours of back-to-back yoga, raising money for a cause close to our hearts – The Christie.

We’re thrilled to share that we raised £9,185 (plus Gift Aid) last year alone – taking our total to  £62,000 raised for cancer charities over the past decade!

A Decade of Impact

Since we began, the Yogathon has supported:

£55,030 for The Christie

£7,000 for Maggie’s, Teenage Cancer Trust, and East Cheshire Hospice

Every pose, breath, raffle ticket and donation has helped make a real difference to those affected by cancer. Thank you to everyone who joined in – whether you flowed through one class or all twelve, cheered from the sidelines, donated, or celebrated with us at the end. Your support means everything.

What is the Yogathon?

It’s a joyful, welcoming day of yoga, open to all. With a wide range of classes throughout the day, you’re invited to take part in as much or as little as you like. You don’t need to be a seasoned yogi – just bring your heart (and maybe a mat), and be part of something special.

Together, we move. Together, we give. Together, we make a difference.

Ready to be part of it this year?

Save the date 16th May 2026!

We are so grateful to all those who have got involved over the years – the donations, the teachers who give up their time, the people organising behind the scenes. Whether you donate, join a class, share a social media post to help spread the word. ‘Compassion without action is observation’ and every little action plays a big part in what we do, so thank you!

This class provides the space for you to find your breath and learn what it means to move mindfully. This slow, deliberate practice will build a stronger body whilst enabling you a new found freedom as you learn to flow with grace. Slower than a Vinyasa and with more flow than Hatha, this really is the goldilocks of classes: Deliciously deep stretches linked through fluid flow bringing you equilibrium in both body and mind.

This is a great practice for beginners as your instructor will guide you though the fundamentals of yoga. It is also suitable for those with an established practice who want to slow down and concentrate on how to use your breath to anchor and ground your body, channeling your energy to bring you into the present.

This deeply nourishing practice will leave you feeling stronger, calmer and content. Always remember slow does not necessarily mean easy.

Vinyasa Flow is about freedom of movement and expression. The style of this practice allows instructors unlimited freedom to express the practice, so no two classes or two teachers are ever the same.

This practice is truly a moving meditation, where you use your breath to truly explore your own body, leaving the constraints of your mind and the outside world at the door.

Physically this is a dynamic practice which works on building strength, mobility and flexibility. The pace of this class will allow you to focus your mind, becoming truly present with breath and body as you create your own space to just be.

This is a stronger practice so not entirely suitable for beginners although alternatives will be given.

The term Hatha comes from the Sanskrit ha, meaning “sun,” and tha, meaning “moon,”. Hatha practice is about uniting these energies; dark & light, active & passive, masculine & feminine, in order to find balance.

Mandala Vinyasa was created by Dulce Aguilar, a yoga teacher who developed this practice as a way to integrate circular movement, breath, and energy flow.
Inspired by Tibetan mandalas and the connection between yoga and the elements (earth, water, fire, and air), her method encourages practitioners to move in 360-degree sequences around the mat, creating a dynamic and meditative experience.

This style of yoga not only builds strength and flexibility but also promotes a deep energetic balance by aligning the body with natural cycles and rhythms.Mandala Vinyasa is a dynamic and fluid yoga practice that moves in 360-degree sequences around the mat. Rooted in Vinyasa yoga, it synchronizes breath with movement while incorporating mandala-inspired flows, where practitioners transition through poses in all directions.

This style often focuses on a specific element or chakra, using circular movement patterns to promote balance, flexibility, and a meditative state. The continuous flow encourages a deep connection with the body and breath, creating a rhythmic and immersive experience that symbolises wholeness and transformation.

Warm Yin & Yoga Nidra

Yin is the perfect antidote to our fast paced modern lifestyles, physically, mentally and spiritually; Yin stems from Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Floor based postures are held for several minutes often with the support of props, with a big emphasis on the breath, encouraging physical and mental release, whilst drifting towards a meditative state.

Deeper, nourishing holds work to release the bodies ‘Fascial Net’; an interwoven system of connective tissue, surrounding and supporting our internal structures deep within the body; muscles, ligaments, organs, bones and nerves.

This intelligent net-like structure adapts to our lifestyles, often causing areas of the body to be bound together, through repetitive movement, emotional stress and energetic imbalances.

Yin postures will work your body to its end range of motion, providing gentle stress to those tightly bound areas, creating a greater range of flexibility and space between the joints.

Energetically, Yin postures stimulate acupressure points throughout the body, to begin releasing energetic blockages, presented as tightly held patterns of tension.

This practice has too many benefits to list but in time you’ll cultivate the ability to be more present, less reactive and more compassionate.

Physically, it also promotes the regeneration of collagen and hyaluronic acid, leading to more hydrated skin with increased elasticity, providing anti-aging benefits.

Your time on the mat draws to a close with an indulgent Nidra, cocooned in a blanket with eye pillows available. This guided meditation, often referred to as yogic sleep, helps to reduce stress, improve sleep and promote inner healing. The perfect complement to Yin.

Ultimately this practice meets you where you’re at and is suitable for all abilities.

Ashtanga Vinyasa is a highly structured flow-style class based around the Ashtanga primary series created by Sri Pattabi Jois.

It is a strong practice which incorporates a range of standing and seated asanas aimed to help develop flexibility, strength and core stability.

The flowing style of this class allows the instructor a freedom of interpretation within the Ashtanga method, sometimes incorporating poses from across the series.

This class is a challenging class, however beginners are welcome as variations are given to suit all levels.

If Ashtanga is a practice that is new to you, we recommend attending a few Ashtanga Vinyasa or Inclusive Ashtanga classes before attending the full Led Primary Ashtanga class.
